Abstract

Osteoclast-like giant cell carcinoma of the pancreas is a rare carcinoma, so there is not much information available on its treatment in localized or advanced stages or on its prognosis, which seems to depend on the proportion of cell types present. The aim is to provide a review of the current state of knowledge about this type of carcinoma, illustrating two clinical cases with different biological behaviors, which reflects the heterogeneity of this tumour entity. In the first clinical case presented, the outcome is good despite early recurrence or persistence of carcinoma after surgery performed with curative intent; however, in the second clinical case, the outcome has been poor, without it being possible to propose any type of oncological therapeutic approach. The description and presentation of these cases to the scientific community provide further information with the aim of sharing knowledge and attempting to open up potential avenues of research.
