Resumen
El sÃndrome de Trousseau se caracteriza por la presencia de eventos trombóticos venosos o arteriales asociados a un paciente con cáncer visceral. Presentamos el caso de una mujer de 43 años sin antecedentes que presentó cuadro clÃnico de embolismos sistémicos con fiebre y que desarrolló infartos cerebrales múltiples de caracterÃsticas embólicas. El cuadro progresivo y de eventos múltiples con fiebre y uso múltiple de antibióticos hizo sospechar como primera posibilidad endocarditis bacteriana. Se ingresó a hospital por recurrencia de infarto cerebral a pesar de tratamiento con aspirina para diagnóstico y tratamiento. Se confirmó la presencia de endocarditis no bacteriana asociada a carcinoma de ovario, haciéndose el diagnóstico de SÃndrome de Trousseau. La evolución hospitalaria de la paciente fue tórpida presentándose hemorragia cerebral asociada a anticoagulantes, complicaciones sistémicas, y finalmente defunción de la paciente a los 61 dÃas de iniciado el cuadro clÃnico.
